INDIA, Yaudheya. Circa 3rd-4th century. AE (Bronze, 26 mm, 11.21 g, 12 h). YAUDHEYA GANASA JAYA (in Brahmi) Karttikeya standing facing, holding spear in his right hand; at his feet, rooster standing to left. Rev. Devasena, consort of Karttikeya, standing facing, head turned slightly to left, extending her right hand; in field to left, kalasha (sacred vase); in field to right, nandipanda. MACW 4707-4710. Large flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, about very fine.

The Yaudheya were a dreaded tribe of warriors who worshipped Karttikeya, the Hindu god of war, who is depicted on the obverse of this coin
